At the beginning of this week, everyone in the office was in a frenzy. The legislative department needed help in composing materials for the Washington Conference, so I aided them in composing more than 100 briefing kits filled with briefings about the Farm Bill and IDFA related news.
After creating briefing kits, the vice president of communications asked me to put together a press kit for the National Ice Cream Party. I looked through last year's press kit and made edits and adjustments to the overall kit. After receiving approval from the vice president, I placed IDFA's letterhead on all the documents in the press kit. I printed enough to make 10 press kits and created sticker labels that I placed on the front of the folders. I thought that creating the press kit gave me insight on the timeliness and necessity of certain projects. The vice president gave me deadlines to have everything completed, reviewed and edited. I thought that this gave me insight on how the communication professional world looked. |
After creating the press kits, I created a web advisory that was published on PRWeb.com. Below is a button that links to the published web advisory by IDFA.
On the day of the Washington Conference, IDFA members visited senators and representatives throughout Washington D.C. in the hopes that they would pass the Farm Bill. The communication team and I traveled from office to office and caught IDFA members in action before entering offices and leaving offices after meeting government officials. To show IDFA support and highlight some of the IDFA members who came to the Washington Conference, we not only created a Vine account, but we posted Vine videos of the Capitol Hill visits. Below is a button to view one of the videos.
