July 8-12
After launching IDFA's ice cream photo contest, I began to monitor the photographs posted on Instagram. On the Instagram platform, I searched #IceCreamMonth to follow users who were posting photographs of ice cream.
I continued to create more photographs to be used on Instagram in order to promote the contest. Below is a post from IDFA's Instagram profile.

In the photograph above, I decided that since it was still the beginning of the month, to post the headline on the photo as National Ice Cream Month in order to continue to raise awareness. I put the hash tag #IceCreamMonth at the bottom of the photograph to remind Instagram users to use that tag when they take their photographs. In the caption, I explained a little bit about what was happening in the photograph and then a reminer about the Ice Cream Photo Contest.
I also created more photographs and planned when to post each photograph to Facebook and Instagram in order to draw more attention to the Instagram contest. Below are some of the photographs I took from the 31st Annual National Ice Cream Party that I formatted for the Facebook and Instagram pages.

I also created IDFA's Pinterest page in order to market National Ice Cream Month and IDFA's Ice Cream Contest. I made three boards: Milk, Dairy and Cheese. These three boards incorporated different recipes and foods from the following categories. I also followed IDFA members' Pinterest pages. You can view the Pinterest page here and below are the three boards that I created. I pinned IDFA members as well as some other various dairy-related products.
Finally, I composed a media advisory for IDFA about the Ice Cream Photo Contest. The communications team wanted to draw more attention from the media. I used skills from COMM231 when I began constructing the media advisory. Below is the draft of the media advisory that I wrote, and you can click here to view the published version on PR Newswire.
